I’m Czech. I am not a princess. BUT I hold Czech princesses very close to my heart, especially around Christmastime.

This Christmas I’ve created a series of Czech movie princesses to live on my 2016 Christmas cards – this is because unlike your regular Disney movie, a good old Czech fairytale movie always has a strong aura of Christmassiness. I can’t tell you why is it that Czechoslovakia never had that many ‘traditional’ Christmas themed movies that would go on to become classics after I was born, you could probably find some political reasons behind it – which is why fairytale stories ended up taking their place, being perfectly apolitical.
